Traces of the "Parcours Juillard"

This graphic narrative begins in 1996, with the award of the Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême (and therefor the presidency of the following year's Festival) to André Juillard. Juillard is noted for his work in a genre which does not really exist in English-language comics, but is widespread in France, the historical comic.

The trail of his characters depicted though Angoulême's streets - the Parcours Juillard was intended to be a temporary celebration of his work - the murals were not constructed for durability, yet somehow some of them at least have survived, even when walls were repainted around them.

And this was only the beginning...
