Paul Gravett is one of comics' unsung heroes. Eddie Campbell (in his How to be an Artist) sketched a much younger Paul Gravett, whom he called "the Man at the Crossroads". His Escape magazine published the first editions of the Alec stories, and Neil Gaiman & Dave McKean's Violent Cases. He curated the Alan Moore: Les Dessins du Magicien exhibition in Charleroi, he has written an introduction to Manga and is working on a book on graphic novels. He is everywhere, in fact, and Angoulême is no exception.
